...I would probably buy this one. NP or CP?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

It is a 2002 Subaru Legacy wagon, with the 2.0 and a manual gearbox. Not very fast or exciting, but it makes a practical and good winter car. It has done 230k km, and the ad does not tell if there is anything wrong with it. It does have the regular rear fender rust (that doesn’t look too bad) and a tear in the driver seat. Price is 29000 NOK, or about $3500. Good buy?

Needs more STi, but you knew that :)

I actually don’t mind lowish powered manuals, personally I would go RWD, as 125hp and 4wd is not going to be very throttle adjustable on anything but snow. Ahhh, i see...

If it’s a good buy depends on how much Subarus go for in Norway. Other than the seat and the rust (double, triple check underneath the car!) it seems rather clean.

From my Dutch perspective it’s rather overpriced. I bought a then 15 years old Legacy wagon (2.0, manual, AWD) in 2012 for €500, and after that car received a new starter and a belt change it was similar to the one in your ad. Having said that, Subarus make little sense here and do make sense where you are, so prices should differ.

€3,000 odd for a 14 year old car with 230,000 up seems a little on the dear side and it’ll drink expensive Norwegian petrol too but I suppose if you want 4wd it’s OK. I wouldn’t buy it myself.

Any port in the storm. Is it worth that to you?

Talk em down a few hundred and your golden.

Subarus hold value here in the states.

I would try to get a lower price, especially if it has any hidden issues. It’s the 4wd wagon part that I really like, because snow and all that.

Cars priced at €500 in Norway don’t run, so that is a bit far fetched in my situation. €1500 gets you a rusty Corolla, add another 500 and that Corolla may have 4wd.

I am in the market for a 4wd, but that pretty much limits the options to either Subarus like this, a Skoda Octavia with a similar price tag (that might have a diesel!) or a cheaper Corolla or Lancer..

I’d consider a 2.5 if I could find one!

I’ve tried snow/gravel hooning with an automatic and the same engine, and that worked. A manual one should be better?

It’s what I expect to use on a 4wd, 2.0 manual car from this millennium, yes. It’s not worth it if I don’t need a daily driver..

Was the Outback Sport available in your country? I’m pretty sure those have the 2.5 as standard, and the older ones had the 2.2.

Only the regular Impreza sedan/wagon was sold here, with a 1.6 or 2.0. I may consider a turbo model of the Impreza and the Forester, but in general I want the better interior and space of the Legacy/Outback.
